Today's invitational was this year's state preview as Queensbury will be the host of the New York State Public High School Cross Country Championship on November 9. As a result, today's meet attracted the best of the best to Queensbury to compete and our girls once again established themselves as one of the top teams in New York State. The Division 3 race that we competed in consisted of many teams ranked in the state and many of whom were ranked higher than our pre-season 18 ranking. However, our girls knew they were better than this ranking and today they showed it. They are starting to believe in themselves and are realizing that with teamwork we can accomplish almost any goal we set. On the boys side our lack of depth and experience showed. We let the strength of the field intimidate us and, consequently, we did not run as well as we are capable. The good news is we get to run at Queensbury 2 more times this year (dual meet and Sectionals) and prove that we are better. And if the teams can truly prove how great I know they are capable of being we will get yet another chance on November 9.
