Broadalbin-Perth Cross Country

Today was a very big day for us! Up until today we have competed in three invitational's and been very successful with runner-up and 3rd place team showings on the girls side (all of our quote, unquote losses have been to schools highly ranked in the state and bigger than us.). However, victory eluded us. As cross country is such a mental sport I knew a victory today was crucial for us. The girls realized this as well and showed the desire to win right from the start as they attacked the race with team goals in front of individual goals. As a result of today's victory, their confidence is soaring and I believe the second half of our season will be even more successful. On the boys side we are starting to make progress as our younger boys are getting use to the varsity level and distance. They still need to get out quicker, but the intimidation factor is starting to diminish. They have a good leader in Greg Bogdan so I am certain that like the girls, the second half of their season will be more successful.
