Burnt Hills Invitational

Although we did not get the victory we were hoping for, it was a great day for our girls as we established ourselves as one of the best teams in New York State. Prior to today's meet we were ranked 5th in New York State for class C girls and today's eventual meet winners, Skaneateles came into the meet ranked # 2 in Class C. Thus, we knew we would have our work cut out for us. In the past we would have settled for 2nd, but as we have done all season, our girls accepted the challenge and rose to it. In the end we finished with a 35-35 tie and unfortunately came up on the short end of a tie-break. However, I am proud of this result and hope the girls our as well. They are getting better each meet and, more importantly, they are starting to realize it. Hopefully we will be able to use today's loss as motivation and hopefully we will get a second chance at Skaneateles on November 9. On the boys side we had some good individual efforts, but did not fully run up to our potential. They are better than their times and I am certain that when we run at SPAC for our Foothills Championship they will show this.
