Broadalbin-Perth Cross Country

Ironically our girls started this season just as we finished it last year. That is we came up two points shy of our goal. Last year we finished 2nd at the Section II Championship as we lost a heartbreaker by two points. When we finished our sectional race last year I knew it would be close and today I had the same feeling. Unfortunately I was once again correct as we came up two points shy of the win and one point shy of second. Fortunately, today marked the beginning of our season and, thus, we will not have to wait another year to try and turn those two points around. Instead today's close loss hopefully will refuel that fire and the girls will respond. On the boy's side we saw a glimpse into our future. Last year we finished the season running as an incomplete team. Today we returned to running as a full team. As a result our individuals ran with more purpose and their results reflected this. All 6 who ran hit their meet goals and those who did run a year ago improved dramatically. Next week in complete opposition to last year we will add a few more runners. As a result I am very optimistic about the direction this team is headed.
